Neuro-affirming
We start with respect for who your child is. Goals are about helpful skills and connection – not changing your child's personality.

ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. In plain terms: it's a way of teaching helpful skills – communication, play, social interaction, daily routines, emotional regulation – by breaking them into small, learnable steps and practicing them in everyday life.
Helps children communicate, play with others, handle change, follow routines, and become more independent at home and at school.
Every plan is written and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and tailored to your child.
Parents report calmer mornings, fewer meltdowns, and new words and skills that carry over into family life.
A trained therapist comes to you, guided by a written plan from a BCBA. Parents are part of the process from day one.
Modern ABA is neuro-affirming and play-based – child-led, built around your child's strengths, with caregivers involved throughout. We start with who your child is, follow their lead, and build skills they can actually use, at the pace that works for them.
A clinician on Astra's team walks you through what we do, in plain words – no jargon, no clinical fog.

Four things we won't compromise on – they show up in every plan, every session, every visit.
We start with respect for who your child is. Goals are about helpful skills and connection – not changing your child's personality.
Sessions look like play, because play is how children learn. Skills get built into the things your child already enjoys – toys, books, songs, real-life moments.
Every plan is written for one child. We follow your child's pace, strengths, and signals, and we adjust as they grow.
Therapy happens where your child already feels safe. Siblings, pets, and real family routines are all part of how we work.

Astra serves children and adolescents ages 2–18 across all of North Carolina, with a special emphasis on early intervention.

The early years are when language, play, and social skills develop fastest – and when small, consistent support tends to go the furthest. We move quickly: assessment first, therapy soon after.

Skill-building around school routines, friendships, self-care, and family life. We coordinate with caregivers and, when helpful, your child's school team.

Independence skills, communication, social-emotional regulation, and the everyday life skills that help teens move toward adulthood with confidence.
A typical week starts at a minimum of 15 hours and is individualized above that based on your child's plan. Sessions happen in your home, around your family's day – morning, afternoon, or after school.
A trained Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works one-on-one with your child, guided by a written plan from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), using toys, games, and real-life routines to build the skills your child's plan is targeting.
